We will be holding a Sports Day for our children in Roses, Sunflowers and Poppies in our garden. We will begin at 10.15am and afterwards the children will have a picnic lunch. Poppies will be the first to race, second will be Sunflowers and then third will be Roses. We do hope you can join us.
We will be holding our Sports Day for the children in Marigolds and Bluebells in Memorial Park. Parents and carers who are able to come please meet us there at 2.40pm. If your child is not usually attending on that day please take them yourselves to Memorial Park and we will meet you there. We ask that all children are dressed in our green polo shirts and bottle-green shorts or joggers. If cardigans/jumpers are required please wear our uniform cardigans/jumpers. After the races the children will have a picnic tea with us and then a little play at the park. We will then return back to Chingford House School.
We will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of the book. All children are invited to dress up as one of the characters from the story. We will be learning poems and songs about the story and acting out little scenes from the story. Our dance and drama teachers are preparing something as well! And of course we will be baking jam tarts!
Welcome back to all our children and we hope that you had a lovely Easter with lots of chocolate to eat.
Our summer term dates are as follows:Monday April 4th 2016 to Friday August 19th 2016.
Wednesday 23rd March 2016. We are inviting children to decorate and bring in Easter bonnets for our Easter Parade or to dress up as Easter bunnies or Easter chicks. (Please no other fancy dress). There will be a little treat for everyone who participates. We will have fun showing all our friends during our School assembly. Each class will sing one song and recite one poem connected with spring or Easter.
We are inviting you to come and find out about our approach to the teaching of reading and, most specifically, about phonics. The meeting will be held on Tuesday February 23rd from 6.00 p.m. until 7.00 p.m. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end. Please let us know if you are attending as the places are limited. It is not a meeting to discuss your child's progress. If you would like a meeting to discuss how your son/daughter is getting on, please make an appointment with their key teacher.
Just a reminder to parents that we will be closing for the Easter holidays from Good Friday, Friday March 25th, and reopening on Monday April 4th 2016.
We have now arranged our books in the new library and are in the process of investing in more books and are purchasing a number of poetry books.
We ask all children to wear uniform from when they are 3 years old. We supply the uniform and we ask that all uniform is purchased from our School so that the styles are all the same and so looks neater. We believe that uniform brings us together as a School family and brings equality to all our children. It also makes it easier for parents/carers.
