Signs for outside learning

Monday, June 2, 2014

At Chingford House School our garden is as much a place for learning as our classrooms.  Therefore to enhance our outside learning we've recently purchased a new set of signs to inspire and teach our children, which we've put up in a number of different places.

Several signs are in our nature area to inspire and encourage children to learn about the world around them.  On our fence we've put a measurement chart, which the children can use to measure themselves, objects and flowers.  There are also counting, timetables and fraction charts to remind children of the maths they've learnt in the classroom.   Plus there are groups of words in letter families to help children learn spelling rules.

Another important new sign is our chart reminding children of playground rules, so they always show respect for others and look after the great range of equipment they have access to.
